LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Baptist Health Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic in Little Rock recently welcomed heart surgeon Dr. Karol Mudy.
Dr. Mudy, a native of Walbrzych, Poland, received his medical degree from Wroclaw Medical University in Wrocław, Poland. He completed his residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and a fellowship at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
As a cardiac surgeon, Dr. Mudy performs many procedures, including heart transplantation, advanced heart failure surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, valve repair and more.
For as long as he can remember, Dr. Mudy has dreamt of becoming a heart surgeon.
“This desire cleared and solidified even more during my clinical rotations while at medical school and in residency training,” he says. “I believe that no single person is more important than the team, learning starts outside your comfort zone and the single most important trait of a good surgeon is humility.”
Dr. Mudy is board certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, he served as a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
