MONTICELLO, Ark. – Geriatric psychiatry provider John Cherry, APRN, recently joined Baptist Health Medical Center-Drew County.
Cherry, a native of Columbia, South Carolina, earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. He is a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
“When it comes to my patients, I believe in treating everyone as if they are a family member; with compassion and respect,” Cherry said.
Taylor Pahls, MD, is also seeing patients at this inpatient location. Dr. Pahls, a Little Rock native, earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he also completed a general psychiatry residency. He is board certified in general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry.
“I believe in treating the whole patient with an emphasis on maximum effect from the fewest medicines possible,” Dr. Pahls said.
Geriatric behavioral health services at Baptist Health Medical Center-Drew County provide treatment for adults age 55 and older struggling with problems such as depression, dementia and behavioral changes through an advanced inpatient program.
