LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – On Friday, June 8, over 100 registered nursing graduates from Baptist Health College Little Rock will don their first official white lab coat as part of the inaugural White Coat Ceremony. The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church located at 501 North Shackleford Road in Little Rock.
The White Coat Ceremony is a meaningful tradition among many in the medical field. The ceremonial putting on the coat with the help of his or her instructor symbolizes the grad’s transition from student to colleague. It’s also denotes the former student is taking a pledge of professionalism in clinical service and care.
“As one of the most significant moments in their educational career, our students will never forget this special occasion,” said Judy Pile, assistant vice president of education at Baptist Health College Little Rock. “The ceremony embodies and is a reminder of the humanism and compassion each graduate will need for providing patient-centered care.”
The upcoming White Coat Ceremony is made possible through the generous donations from alumni, faculty and other donors.
