Open since 1974, BAPTIST HEALTH Rehabilitation Institute is the most experienced Arkansas physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital. It is also the largest facility in the state with a capacity for over 100 inpatients.
BHRI is accredited by the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation, Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Outpatient Rehabilitation, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). BHRI is also approved by the Arkansas State Department of Health as a comprehensive physical rehabilitation hospital.
BHRI's interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation combines a team of highly qualified Physiatrists (physicians who specialize in rehabilitation medicine), Consulting Physicians, Rehabilitation Nurses, Care Coordinators/Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Respiratory Therapists, Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, Registered Dieticians, Driver Rehabilitation Instructors and Neuropsychologists working together with the patient and their family. Each staff member is dedicated to providing individualized treatment for the special needs of our patients and their families.
Patients may be referred to BHRI by a physician, family member,
friend or self-referral. A screening examination may be conducted
prior to admission. The cost of treatment is covered as any hospitalization
by Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation and private insurance
